Sustainability

Sustainability Through Responsible Sourcing

At Agrofino, sustainability is not a separate program, it is embedded in the ingredients we source and the communities we work with. It is rooted in long-term partnerships with the people and regions that make our products possible.

Through responsible sourcing and local value creation, we strive to support communities, preserve traditional livelihoods, and promote the sustainable use of natural resources.

Creating Opportunities in the Amazon

The Brazil nut supply chain provides income opportunities for thousands of families throughout the Amazon region.

By supporting formal economic activity linked to Brazil nut harvesting and processing, we contribute to sustainable livelihoods that help strengthen local communities and create alternatives to informal or environmentally damaging activities.

Supporting Ancient Crops and Rural Communities

For generations, Andean communities have cultivated quinoa, amaranth, and other native crops adapted to the challenging conditions of the highlands.

By creating international demand for these ingredients, we help support farming families while contributing to the preservation of agricultural traditions that have been passed down for centuries.

Adding Value at Origin

We believe that value should be created as close as possible to the source.

Through processing, packaging, quality control, and labor-intensive activities such as Brazil nut cracking and selection or mango peeling and cutting, we help generate employment opportunities that benefit local workers and their families.
